Helllo, I just heard of this site and wanted to check it out. My grandfather served in WWII, 30th division 119th inf. I'm currently transcribing all the letters he wrote home and am looking for any further information to supplement them with. I'm the family historian and Grandpa is such a huge part of that story I feel I should explore every Avenue! I look forward to exploring the site Thanks! Frankie13
You can find more information the Center of Military History, and the sites in my sig, especially Hyperwar. The Army Green Books include a chronology that will give you some information as to where/when.
Welcome Frankie. What part of Colorado? Trying to talk the boss into a road trip to Colorado Springs in September.
Thank you! I'll do that. I have his records... And I'm slowly matching dates of his letters against movements of the troops. "Guns at last light" is a magnificent book too... The 30th features heavily. Also "Workhorse of the western front" that one is available as a free digital download as it's out of print .
