Help Discovering the Name of an Old Movie?

Hello, I'm hoping that someone will be able to help me discover the name of an old movie that my father remembers watching when he was young. It was a World War II movie, and the only scene he remembers is from the very beginning of the movie: before a young man departs overseas, his father brings him to a local bar to buy him a drink. Only the young man is too young, and the bartender refuses to serve him. Not a lot to go on, I know! This would have been sometime between the mid-1940s and early 1950s. Any help at all is much appreciated. Thank you!!
