Hey guys I've recently come into possession of a P-38 that came with a leather holster. The P-38 is made in 61 but I do not know if the holster matches that date. If anyone could give me the country of origin, where it was made, or even if it was used in ww2 that would be great.

I am by far not an Expert on these things, but the original issued holster had a different shape and was marked on the backside with Wehrmacht stamps and a big P38. Maybe it was a private made one or a late war part but for that i canĀ“t say anything of help.

I'm sorry to say that this looks nothing at all like an issue WWII P-38 holster.

Here's a genuine WWII German hardshell to compare : -

And here's the typical marking to the rear ( the three-letter makers' code and date just visible to the left ).

There was a softshell version which looked similar but simplified.

The one in your pics looks more like a privately-purchased holster - whether pre, during or post-WWII I cannot tell.
