Help in identifying a ribbon

    I need help with identifying the ribbon on the left (the one on the right is a faded good conduct ribbon I believe). I'm assuming the ribbon I need help with is also faded since they are together on a single bar. He was in the Army and served in Europe.

    I think I found it listed as an allied service medal. There is a debate on whether it is unofficial (apparently sold in The European Theater), but one guy over at another forum has it listed on separation papers under medals. So.... Happy hunting....
