Absolutely brilliant! The kind of thing I dream of doing...the day after I win the lottery.

I remember 40 years ago staying in one of these in Nhulunbuy/Gove - we had to wait for a flight to Darwin and had checked out of the hotel we had been staying at (for 8 months - living in a 5 star hotel - my step-fathers company paid for it, was the only hotel at the time - "The Walkabout Hotel") At the time the hut was furbished/doubled as a cyclone shelter. Aren't many left.

You can see Nhulunbuy - far right.

Very nice but if I had the lottery money I'd go for a Martello Tower - especially if I could have the 18 pounder on the roof restored to working order with a hired crew and a good supply of canister.

And why not? The one at Howth, Dublin is now a wireless museum.
