How many socialists did the Nazis murder during WW2?

I cannot find any statistics on this

 

Estimate. How many Soviets were killed during the war? 20-22 million total of which 8.6 million are military deaths.

 

There were also quite a lot of communists in Germany, and what do you consider socialist? There are socialdemocrats etc so counting the socialists may be quite impossible if you list all the leftist parties? Then again, maybe somebody has done that?

 

^^^This is a good question to flesh out, because political parties were nuanced from one country to the next.

It's well to remember not only the Nazis were purging leftists... Both Vichy and Occupied France both sent non-Jews by the trainload to the camps. These included communists, socialists, intellectuals, etc.. Arrested by French Gendarmes taking orders from French officials and put on French trains.

 

If I recall correctly once the Germans in WW2 occupied countries they did not only capture for political reasons but especially the intellectuals in cities and towns i.e. teachers, politicians etc and left the "dumb" ones to work for the nazis.
