I'm trying to locate a sharpshooter badge with rifle bar and a driver badge with driver-w bar but I want to ensure they are WWII era pieces. I know they were sterling but what do I need to look at as far as hallmarks and pin backs?

No problem - he's around quite regularly, if you don't get through to him just ask again here and hopefully we can sort you out :)

I went to my grandmas today, and looked at the marksman badge. The hallmark is on the top of the badge. It says "Sterling" and has this {F} stamped under it. I tried to get a pic but none came out clear.

Can I get an opinion on this badge? It looks to be WWII era but I'm not sure about the hallmark. It is marked Sugarman Sterling and the bar says sterling 1K. It's a pin back. I've tried to upload a picture from my computer for a half hour but I can't seem to get it done. I keep getting error messages.

Well with the help of forum members I have located and purchased a sharpshhoter badge. It's an original pinback with the Fox hallmark. I have attached images in the hope this thread might help others with a similar dilemma. Thanks to all who gave me advice and feedback!

the pin back badge was of WW2 origin and a little after that, probably up to about 1948-50. however. remember many badges were left over from WW2 and sold long after WW2, but WW2 vintage..... I's say WW2 vintage
