How to remove unoriginal paint from german helm

    Hi I just got a Original german helmet thats painted black and in certian spots where the paint is off I can see the original paint so how can I remove the fake black paint while not harming the original paint??

    Do you know what kind of paint the fake areas are done in? My suggestion would be to use rubbing compound if you want to preserve the original. You can go to any auto parts store and get some. It might take alot of elbow grease to do but this will work.

    well its just black, maybe the kind to stop rust.
