    Hello,

I am in search of a book. I believe the title is 83rd Infantry Division: The Thunderbolt Across Europe. It's has a black cover with font and emblem in yellow. This is the cover of the book:

    83rdInfDivBook.jpg

I've already checked Amazon. If anyone has seen a copy of this available, or has any idea where I might find a copy for purchase, please let me know.

I've seen a screenshot showing the only known picture of my grandfather overseas during WW2 in the contents of this book. It would mean so much to my family to have our own copy.

    Thank you.

Looks like you can get a pdf here for a couple of dollars:
The Thunderbolt Across Europe: A History of the 83rd Infantry Division 1941-1945. Merriam Press Military Archives Series.
Abebooks has it at prices that make Amazon's look low 4 digits in front of the decimal.
Here's a British source with a price tag of 59 pounds. Not sure what that is at current rate or what the postage would be.
Fortress Books - The Thunderbolt across Europe - A History of the 83d Infantry Division 1942-1945
It does look like there are a number of covers and editions to this.
This site has a number of copies for under $100:
Thunderbolt Across Europe - Philos C - Alibris
    Here's one for $100:
THE THUNDERBOLT ACROSS EUROPE - Chartwell Booksellers

I can't get there right now but you might find some help at:

That is a Turner Publishing reprint from 1999.

If I had known that book was that pricey I'd have ... Oh, look at the time, gotta go.

    Thank you for the replies.

However, the book in the links provided is actually a different book that I already own (titled: Thunderbolt Across Europe: A History of the 83rd Infantry Division 1942-1945, published by C.D. Philos).

The book I am looking for has black cover with yellow lettering/emblem and was published by Turner Publishing, as Takao pointed out.

Yep, that's the one. I had no idea what an ISBN was or what it meant, but now that you recommended using it, I looked it up. Seems to be the best one to find a book. Thank you for the tip!

ISBN is a mystery to most. I keep forgetting just how useful it can be. Timmey you aren't the only one who is learning (or some times relearning) here. Thanks indeed Opana.

International Standard Book Number. Its the 13 or 16 digit numeral assigned to all publications and tells you where it was published, who published it, and what its identifier is.
