Change society? By making a decision to preserve the legal status quo over the teaching of Creationism/ID?

Incidentally, I gather that the judge is a church-going Republican appointed by G W Bush. Not much sign of radical tendencies there...

Yes, by exceeding his legal authority and legislating from the bench. A judge can only rule on the issues presented for ajudication yet this judge decided to go beyond that and rule that the mere mentioning of ID and stating that evolution was a theory rather than an established fact violated the Constitutional requirement of separation of church and state even though no religious issues were presented.

This is the entire text of what was being read to the students, encouraging them to keep an open mind and suggesting an alternative source of reading. No teaching nor even mention of Creationism.

Naturally not - had the word 'Creationism' been included then it would have been covered by the existing Supreme Court ban.

I think that the judge had heard about the Trojan horse...

Faith is it's own proof .....if you don't have it ,any logic will fail

science or natural philosophy is a journey of discovery were every step
is made over past belief , it require doubt in industrial quantity

god is truth .... science is truth

    any contradiction is a misunderstanding

Faith is not the same as truth, and neither is god, because there is only one truth. Science derives its authority from the fact that whenever its laws are applied the results will be the same; it is truth. Religion cannot claim this because not everyone who has faith draws the same conclusions or meets the same facts.

If you drop something it will fall towards the earth. Always, everywhere on earth, unless different gravitational forces are created. If you heat water enough it will boil, always, everywhere on earth. If you have faith... Some people start believing in God, some in Allah, others in a few million Hindu gods, others in the Buddha who is not even a god.

The thing about the apple is that Newton understood than the apple did
    not fall to earth .
the apple was attracted to eath ,
and logicaly the earth was attracted to the apple ,
the relative movement of the two bodies being relative to their size

the rest was easy ,he only had to invent the calculus

natural selection state than it's the survival of the fittest
if one's ask how do you know who is the fittest
the darwinian answers is... the one who survive
    not much help really .
two theories have tried to offer some mechanism ,
one is evolution by catastrophism , a succession of large disasters
the other one is evolution by behavior

intelligent design is a great proposition , it lend to the creation an
universal sweep of majestic proportion ,it's great theology
    it's just rotten science .
