Well, I guess this has been dead for awhile, but I'll put my 2 cents in.
My name's Elijah. I live in Norfolk, Va. I'm 17. I love military history, comes from my dad's side.
My friend Stewie Griffin introduced me to this fine forum.
I think I've explained more on other posts, so...that' all.

Hello all who have posted here. I kept forgetting to do likewise!

My name is Lyndon, I'm 34 and I live on the Isle Of Wight, England. I'm from London originally.

My main field of interest is German and Soviet armour and the battles on the Eastern Front in WW2. I have other interests which I won't go into though. ;)

Have fun all and nice to 'meet you'. 8)

    Lyndon,
I live in Norfolk (Va). There are also the cities of Suffolk and Isle of Wight nearby. Named no doubt after the originals in England.
The English heritage is thick in America, my friend.

Hi there. You have an Isle Of Wight in Virginia? Wow. Who'd have thought that?. Well, my 'Isle Of Wight' isn't too big, just about 20 miles by 20 or so. It's of the south coast of England, just south of Southampton and Portsmouth. Been here for 4 years. It's beautiful.

My girlfriend knows Norfolk, Virginia as she lived in North Carolina for a while( Greensboro). Small world huh?

    Catch ya around! :smok:

How can you not be interested in Allied weaponry, so close to the Overlord docking bays? :D
Thanks for introducing, the three of you. Welcome to this ever growing forum!

    Roel,

Ahhhh, I know. You are right. Well I AM interested in Allied stuff but I don't know as much as I do about German/ Soviet stuff. Hopefully I can learn things here. I already have. I guess I just find the Eastern Front a bit more interesting.

Hmm, yes, that's a good point. If I were able to get more reliable stuff on the Eastern front then I'd be on it all day, sure thing.

The new generation of books from German sources( war diaries, combat records etc) seem to be very reliable with many new photos unseen before. There are a few companies doing these books now. Probably there's been a rush these last dozen years or so to get these accounts and stories in print before these old soldiers are gone for good. Unfortunately they are very expensive, especially the tank unit histories.

    Oh Lydon,
I forgot about Hampton and Portsmouth! There around this area too.
Yeah, Greensborro isn't too far away, a couple hours maybe.

Yes indeed, it is a small world.
