You are all welcome gentleman (ladies ?) I know I am new here, and as far as I have seen the moderators are doing a bang up job, but a bit of civility is always nice. I know a different language can be a challenge, and misunderstandings occur, but as students of History, (and in some few cases, makers of it) I am sure we can get along with only minor issues. After all, we have a direct source of the topic at hand. I am sure Merlins insight will give a different perspective on things. To the youngsters (myself included) lets keep in mind there is a huge difference in reading a thing, and doing it. Okay, off my soapbox, and back to my corner with the rest of the FNG's... :D

    It's a compliment, BTDTOG is .....
"Been There, Done That, Old Guy". as compared with a....NBTNDTYG.

Not sure how that compares Quillian..the one I am talking about is 73 Eastings

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_73_Easting

I am not normally much for wikipedia, but from what I remember, this entry is pretty much on the mark.

I was with Eagle troop. Gunner on an M1

Thanks Merlin for the compliment...course my little scrap was nothing compared to yours, from what I understand of your units history. Salute to you sir.

    Welcome Cdat! :D

We're always more than happy to have people with actual experiance on here. Too often we lose sight of reality in our questing after facts & figures! ;)

Thank you Ricky...though in hindsight, I could have done without the experience, if you know what I mean.

My apologies...I thought I had that whole spelling thing down... :D

We ended up shooting in all directions at times..a "target rich area" like circling the wagons in the old western movies.
