Not too imaginative I'm afraid but my name really is Simon. I generally am more a planey type person, but am generally fascinated by anything WWII, including tanks, although my knowledge on the latter is limited. Other complimentary interests include wargaming and modelling.

I found this by following a link PMN1 posted on a plane forum to a Battlecruiser forum, then a link he posted to this one!

I live in Kent in England, and am 26.

Simon Welcome! Like wargaming and modeling eh? Sounds like you found the right place!

Hey MP, you gotta be a fan of Trailer Park Boys right? (It would be anti-canadain to not be!) I'm not to crazy about the 1st (and 2nd) season coming to the US. I have seen US tv and it is very censored, which might take alot of the character (and comedy) out of the show.

No thanks SgtBob, you can keep California(a little too liberal for Canada). And Minnesota as well, dontcha know?

Well then does anyone else want California?? Most of us in the U.S. don't want it, so...go ahead and grab it.

I think that statement is grossly unfair to the iceberg - the ship was definitely to blame for that particular traffic accident ;)

Well, I suppose I had better introduce myself after having stumbled across this forum a short while ago.

I live in the UK and my interests are (in order of priority) ammunition; the guns that fired it; the aircraft, ships and AFVs the guns were fitted to; and how they were used in combat. All of the above with a particular focus on WW2, though I try to keep up with modern developments as well.

I collect cartridges (you can see pictures of my collection on my website - I have about 800 different types), write articles on cartridges and weapons for my website, and also write books. You can see the details of the books published so far on my website. Next one out will be a history of assault rifles and their ammunition, co-authored with Max Popenker of the guns.ru site.

Why, yes, of course. The ship was not allowed to sail in a one-way arctic sea either I guess...

Well, I agree with Tony: the ship was totally at fault! ;)

Hmm, now it might be a bit morally wrong to fine the survivors wouldn't it? :D

Well I've been around for a while so time to introduce.

My name is obvious Anton, I'm from the Netherlands europe. My age is 23.

Hobbies are military history/present/future, history, soccer and this forum ofcourse.
Since may 2002 it is my mission to be politicaly incorrect and look things from every possible side. This implicates discussions with you forum-members on the edge. :D

Like some of you already noticed I like to bring arguments in who cause pitted discussions. Specially when it has to do with us/nato :D

Anyway I don't mean everything so harss as I sometimes do.
Still have to work on my english to avoid the wrong words.

I find this forum and the members very informative and I'm learning of many things you never hear in the Netherlands.

Hartelijke groeten mede forum leden Anton

    HELLO!!

    Hello!

My name is David, and I live in Swanage, Dorset, England.

I am 40 years old, and have been very happily married for 19 years.

    I have two children, aged 17 & 14.

My father fought in WWII as a Major in the Lincolnshire regiment, serving in Burma. I am sure it is from him that I get my military interest.

I have had several jobs, mainly in retail sales.

    I am a committed Christian.

My main military interests are Tanks & A.F.Vs, The Western Desert Campaign, and Wargaming. As a younger man I used to make model tanks.

I enjoy Cricket, following England & Hampshire. Soccer, following England & Leeds Utd. But my favorite sport is probably Gridiron or American Football, following the Oakland Raiders. I have been lucky enough to have also enjoyed playing all three sports in the past, only a lack of spare time prevents me from playing cricket now.

If any of the above is of interest to you, feel free to send a P.M.

    Hi !

My understanding is this.... correct me if I am wrong.

Real name: Soccer, called football in the U.K, called Soccer in the U.S.

Real name: Gridiron Football, called American Football in the U.K, called Football in the U.S.

    Greetings!

    Hello Roel.

    Thank you for your welcome.

just a quick question..... despite ticking the box for notification of posts to threads to which I have contributed, no messages have come my way, even though there have been subsequent posts. why?

    Hi fellas,
I've been away for a little while, and I see I have missed the coming of quite a few new members... Í'd just like to welcome them now.
Btw: maybe some of our more active members can tell me what I've missed? Thanks!

    Hello!

I'm Richard, 24, from Luton, Bedfordshire, England
    (up a bit from London)

I followed the same path here as Simonr1978...

I'm generally a history nut, but military history is a specialism.
I'll have to apologise if my posts seem a bit more opinion / memory than hard fact - I can only access this forum while at work.

Oh - and I learned Medieval Latin at Uni.

Welcome Ricky! We seem to draw more and more members over from other forums, starting with the wwiivehicles.com forum which isn't quite as active as this one, but now we get more people from all over! Great!
