So I found these in a box where my father live: Somebody painted this with a gold paint. If it's real I guess I could put it in some liquid to clean it: Some kind of letters in German describing what it is:
It's very difficult to tell from your photos if the medals etc are real or fake. That said, I'm not convinced that the gold painted iron cross is the genuine article as it looks to be a crudely cast copy. The same can be said for the Iron Cross shown in photo seven. The third photo shows a black wound badge that has had its black paint worn away to reveal the base metal underneath. It looks to be a genuine badge and is not that rare. Many thanks for your answer. Regarding the gold painted iron cross it's from the same source as the others. I think my dad painted it gold in the 80's when he was drunk or something. Maybe it would be worth to try and clean it up with some kind of liquid. But not good news that you think only one is genuine from what you can see out of the pictures. By the way if some of them is genuine is there any money to be made?
I'm not going to comment on value as I this isn't a valuation site. But what I will say is that if the Iron Cross and Oak Leaves with Swords were genuine then you would have a very, very expensive item in your possession! The gold painted Iron Cross is almost certainly fake. The corners of each arm of the cross should be very pointed and precise and there should also be a pattern around the edge of the cross (dots) which is clearly not evident in the one you have.
hmm that is a petty, but maybe I use some paint remover anyhow just to reveal the fakeness for clearly.
hi, here are some new pictures. Hope those are clear enough. Thanks for you help: Probably nothing but I also found these:
