Nevermind the really dirty floor - anyway - this guy is offering to sell me this dagger, but I am unsure of the authenticity. It is at a really go price. IT's dinged up a bit. Can you give me your take and what you think of it? I'd really appreciate it!

The aspect looks dodgy and it looks as if the original leather was attached to it to give it a touch of authenticity. I could be wrong but my first impression is that you should leave it. Real ones go for about 500 € if not more , so if the price is too cheap I'd hesitate. Are there any maker markings on it, such as Solingen or initials?

It somehow doesn't look 'right' to me - the grip and hilt look too clean compared to the leather.

You know what they say - if it looks to good to be true......

I wrote the guy to get what he has for the maker markings. The hilt in comparison to all the others I've checked looks to thick. He's charging 175.00 so I thought it was a pretty good deal but the authenticity was the key of course. Now after comparing around the new, some of the shops have some really fine ones starting at 499.00. It might be better just save up for legit one? we'll see if writes back with the makers mark...
