tiso ....in western europe ,in eastern europe ,in russia no one group has been persecuted with the same ferocity as the jews...thats why we have the word POGROM.....what group is it that you belive is on a par with the suffering of the jews in europe?what is the name of this fictitious tribe, and what is their word for pogrom?you balkans have plenty of ethnic hatred that goes way back....orthedox ,catholic ,muslim...all have a powerful base behind them and all were happy to butcher the jews at the slightest pretext....what base did the jews have benind them?when did the jews of europe ever attack or subjigate any people?....and where, tiso are the jews to go?
you dont seem to think they have any claim to israel ...im asking you again where is the jewish homeland to be?...please ,remember they must have a homeland....(they are so done with the whole pogrom ,treblinka thing,ok)...roel has holland, ricky has england,i have america...you have slobovia...try to have some empathy for the wandering jews.

Majorwoody, is it so hard to type out the name of the man's native country? It's Slovenia.

I do think your point is quite valid, though. Besides, how much does a country need to do to justify its existence, if not the winning of no less than four wars over it? However, we must realize how many Jews are still living all over the world in spite of their Holy Land being quite firmly in their hands right now. Clearly not all Jews feel prosecuted, hunted and hated (anymore). Do they even want their own state, a place to return to?

As a personal point, I may live in the Netherlands but I do not percieve the country as my home or the nation as my family.

Why does Timothy McVeigh pop to your mind? He was not a Christian terrorist, in fact there is no evidence that he was a Christian at all. he certainly didn't consider himself one. What white supremacy groups or Jewish groups in the US have committed terrorist acts?

We have a saying: "Before you try to remove splinter from someones hand remove log out of your own eye".
Now who has systematicaly vetoed any relevent UN Security council resolution that would oblige Israel to back down?
Was this by any chance the same country that supported agressive war in Lebanon and at same time rushing shiipments of "smart" bombs and other weapons to Israel? Now who might that country be?

    McVeigh's skin color is relevant?
Congratulations you found one Jewish terrorist in a nation of 300 million people. Not exactly an epidemic is it?

Out of an estimated 12 million people who consider themselves "jews" in America. That is the problem isnt it? I thought you could only be jewish one of these ways.
    1. You are a jew by faith.
    2. Your mother is jewish.(apprently father dosent count from what I read)

    Watch this:
Israelis spies in US by FOX news (interesting that this came from Fox) BTW transcripts on FOX news site are not there anymore:
    http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article7545.htm

Heh. This is historical occasion: me quoting FOX-news. I wonder if reporter is still working for them?

Not realy but he WAS US non muslim citizen blowing up US federal building (i.e. attacked US govermnet) with heavy loss of life (i.e. terrorism act).
Not one jewish terrorist but one Jewish terrorist organisation .

    Hi all,

Just looked on some topics and saw this, I know some people on here will not agree, however, I thought it might be of some use.

Maybe some people can do some further digging to establish if this sourse is good, bad or indifferent.

McVeigh was born in Western New York State in Pendleton (near Buffalo) to a very ethnically diverse Roman Catholic family. Ten years old when his parents divorced, McVeigh and his siblings lived with their father, a devout Catholic who often attended Daily Mass

    And

McVeigh invited California conductor/composer David Woodard to perform a prequiem (a Mass for those who are about to die) on the eve of his execution, and he had also requested a Catholic chaplain. Ave Atque Vale was performed under Woodard's baton by a local brass choir at St. Margaret Mary Church,

Decided to return GP? Not surprising that your first post would be to dispute a claim by me

One would be hard pressed to find an American that grew up in a small town in the US that didn't have a background that included being sent to church a few times however the more important question whether McVeigh considered himself a Christian and whether he was motivated in his actions by his beliefs.

Anyway welcome back GP. I'm willing to bury the hatchet about past disputes though I imagine we will have a few more in the future

tiso..you have implied that other ethnic groups in europe were persecuted as nuch as the jews, what groups, where, when ? it would appear that you feel that the jews are not entitled to a homeland in israel,i ask you once again ,where should they go?......the jewish terrorist you posted was goin to attack a moque, mcveige was an agnostic it seems...so we are back to the muslim terrorists again munich, rome, entebe, beruit, lockerby, manhatan, cairo,et al ad nauseum

Roma & Sinti (the real Gypsies) troughout europe, Irish by English (for couple of hunderd years), Scots by English (for couple of hunderd years), Welsh by English (for couple of hunderd years), Basque by Spanish, muslims by Spanish (reconquista) and more or less anyone else in Europe, Slovenes by Italians (between WW, during and after WW2) by Germans (during WW2), by Austrians ( between WW, during and after WW2), Serbs (ethnic clashes with Turks, Croats, Albanians), Albanians (Greeks, Serbs), Macedonians ( Tuks, Greeks, Bulgarians),
Kiddo anyone has history of being persecuted around here so spare me your ignorance.

Everyone has right to homeland, but it seems that you forgeting that Palestinians also have right to their homeland and for last two millenia they were there and Jews were not..
BTW large proportion of Jews nowdays have little in common with biblical Jews since lot of them are descendants of Khazari (converted to Judaism somwhere in 8th century and also Ethiopians).
BTW you who are knowlegable about European history tell me who (which countries) gave asylum to Jews who were kiscked out of Spain after reconqista and where did they go?

A bit of selective memory from your side.

when a country is conquered and occupied its inhabitants are often subject to repression and violence,if there is the slightest hint of revolt things will go from bad to worse.this is not news.it has always been so and will ever be ,in europe or anywhere else.......i would suggest that the jews ,being an ethnic minority wherever they have lived were subject to casual brutality and slaughter time and time again. the ovens of poland were the straws that broke the camels back......the arabs who fled israel in 48 were runniing because they feared the jews would do to them what arab radio had been screeching they were going to do to the jews. in fact radio broacasts from syria and eygpt hinted that arabs who remained in israel would be treated as collaborators ....they were assured that after a few weeks they could return with their shovels to bury all the jewish corpses, the arabs who stayed in israel were not harmed.nor were the exiles prevented from returning....and what of the hundreds of thousands of jews who fled their homes in eygpt, syria, iraq and jordan with the shirts on their backs ,should they now return to warm embrace of their former muslim neighbors?...tiso ,i ask you again ,for the 3rd time .where would you suggest the jews go ,if they cant live in israel?

Acctually no. They were treted with respect in North Africa and Otoman empire (the ones that gave asylum to Sefardic Jews after reconqiusta). Basicly they had no trouble in Muslim world (with exception of Palestine )up to ceration of Israel.

Acctualy this radio transmitions are still matter of debate. BBC was monitoring radio transmitions for UK goverment but it seems that these transmitions and only this famouus transmitions calling on Palestinians to flee) are missing from the archives. AFAIK BBC's own wersion is that they never existed.
BTW i'm shure that what happened in Dir Yassin, and a cople of othe places had something to do with Palestiniand fleeing
Eyewithess account by Meir Pail who was at that time a staff officer for special duties on Dir Yassin:
    http://www.ariga.com/peacewatch/dy/dypail.htm
    other documents: http://www.ariga.com/peacewatch/dy/
About your question about where should the Jews live, i'll anwer it when you answer my questions in previous posts.

An interesting study is the reasoning behind persecution.

For example, England sat quite heavily on her Celtic fringe because when she ddn't, they tended to spend their time raiding or invading England.

Ditto the Basques in Spain, I think.

The Muslims in Spain got caught up in a religious war, as did Huguenots and Cathars in France, etc etc.

So why were the Gypsies and the Jews so persecuted? Does anybody know of any actual reason?

Boy, have we drifted off the original topic!
