    What does this stand for in American lingo?
    I am hearing it used quite often.

    Junior Reserve Officer(s) Training Corps.

    It's the highschool version of college ROTC. If you take more that 2 years in college, you have to go in as an LT (if I remember right). In highschool, if you stay in for the duration they make you a PFC instead of a buck private.

    It's alot of fun, like boyscouts with more guns.
