I think it's more, I've read that 1351 knight's cross holders don't have a date of death, while this doesn't mean they are all alive it could give a clue about it. Best regards/ Daniel

in case it helps, my grandfather on my mothers side was: Hauptmann Radtke, Werner he was one of the last to be awarded and he was never seen again, königsberg was eventually overrun and we always assumed he was killed in a captivity long march or bodily destroyed in that final outpost of german defense.
