I'm looking for a sketch of a generic amphibious landing plan that shows how the various landing craft lined up in waves. Most landing plans for specific campaigns show the transports, etc. but don't get down to details on the landing craft waves. As I recall I found one on Mark Flower's great WW2 gyrene web site at

    http://www.ww2gyrene.org/Role_Landing_plan_battalion.html

but when I went back to that URL his web site is gone. (Does anyone know what happened to his web site?)

Here is one for D Day. It says 69 Brigade King Beach, but it was generic for all assault brigades and RCT on D Day. The US Army used some different equipment, but the waves were the same. Assualt Formations and Timings 69 Inf BDE King Beach.jpg

I recall (I think) seeing a picture somewhere of a pretty simple and basic plan of the invasion, drawn up by Montgomery on a piece of paper. Not sure where I saw that though.

Okay, never mind, I have no idea how to upload an image. I have the SWORD and OMAHA diagram and others, but no idea how to get them posted.[IMG]
