Lend-lease quiz question

    But the industrial growth, the migration of workers, etc can't have hurt! ;)
    It is a truism that the winners of every war are the armament factories, and America was the arsenal of democracy.

    Not saying America was profiteering, I'm bloody glad they were there and that they took the very generous line of 'lend-lease'.

    I don't believe the USA even expected to get completely repaid for all of the supports we gave. I imagine the USA just wanted those countries to make an honest effort at repaying. To those that have repaid their debts, we thank you. :D

    As for the equipment, we didn't really want it back. Where would we put it? There were hangars and warehouses in the Pacific and Asia that were full of heavy equipment, trucks, etc, that were abandoned because it would cost more to bring them back than what we could sell them for at surplus sales.
