I’m trying find whereabouts in France the 6th Seaforth Highlanders were stationed between their arrival in 1939 and the start of the Battle of France on 10 May 1940. The name of a city, town, or village would be very helpful.

    Thanks!

Try the site WW2 talk. Ask if Andy or Lee have the war diaries, also check the search engine there.

6th Seaforths transfered from 51st Div to 5th Div in March 1940 so if you look into where those Divisions were you may find something. (they were swapped with 2 Seaforths)
I have both of their Divisional histories but they wont have much for the Phoney War locations.
EDIT: Just checked the histories & nothing specific enough to answer your request .

    Thanks Owen

Drop me a message on WW2talk.com if you'd like to get a copy of the battalion diary covering their time in France during 1940. I already have a copy and It starts in January 1940 and goes beyond the 10th May.

    Regards
    Andy

They were involved in the crossing of the Garigliano river but not at Cassino itself.
