179th Regimental Book page 89 says 30 September at Grandvillers, Baker Company advanced with the support of light tanks/etc....it is from a Stars and Stripes article ...1st Battalion fought house to house,etc ..not much details
im trying to get more info on my granddfather who was in company A 179h infantry i got alot of his info off his discharge papers but iknow records were burned in st. louis fire if any help ould someone please give me liks or ideas im just starting this research i know he was over in central europe and was a prisoner of war guard i have other numbers and stuff i just came across this forum and thought it would be great help
Have you read the division history or contacted the division museum in Oklahoma City? You should go down there and ask if you could peruse the library.
