    This battalion was a semi-mobile unit, which means a reduced number of prime movers, designed for the defense of static installations.

    Organisation of the AAA Gun Bn.:

    Four firing batteries, lettered A to D, an H&H Battery, and a Service Battery. Each battery equipped with four 90mm guns each and, usually, three water-cooled .50 caliber machine guns
    The weapons of a AAA Gun Bn.:

    M1 90mm AA gun (see picture)

    Attachted to IX Air Defense Command from mid november 1944 tot mid april 1945.
    The IX Air Defense command provided air defense for areas behind the advancing ground forces in northern Europe for the 71st Fighter Wing.
