Well, a bit heavy on the self-aggrandizement, but you can start with Patton's "autobiography" War As I Knew It.
I've read most of them and there are quite a few.... Personally ( and it's only my personal opinion ) I rate as the best : - 'Knights Cross - A Life of Field Marshal Erwin Rommel' by David Fraser ( HarperCollins 1994 ) 'Patton - A Genius For War' by Carlo D'Este ( HarperCollins 1995 ). Although Farago's 'Patton' and Irving's 'Trail of the Fox' are both still good to read despite being respectively superseded and discredited......
I know a renactor who just looks him and I have a great pic with him on his command jeep. Interested?
'Patton - A Genius For War' by Carlo D'Este ( HarperCollins 1995 ). I forgotten about this one, read it and put it away. It is a good read.
Although not biographies as such, if you're really interested in either Rommel or Patton then I'd strongly recommend the following : - 'The Rommel Papers' edited by Liddell Hart 'The Patton Papers' edited by Martin Blumenson. Both have been reprinted several times, also in paperback. They do give an authentic flavour of and insights into both men....
try rommel by desmond young oldie but a goodie also rommels war in africa by wolf heckmann not a complete bio but good all the same
Irving's Trail of the Fox is very lively and uses a lot of unpublished sources. It's also free on Irving's site... but with the usual caveat that the author's political leanings must be kept in mind. The Rommel Papers are outstanding (best German memoir alongside Guderian's).
