The answer is Elessar. Perhaps David would like to post a question now, or whoever gets here first can! :D

A many tentacled creature that lived in the dammed up Sirrion streamhead, just outside the Western gate of Moria. It attacked Frodo, just as the Fellowship were entering.

Oh shoot, I always forget that whoever gets the right answer has to ask new question. Let me think of something...

What is the nickname that Gandalf gave to Pippin?

You fool of a Took? :D

It's not a rule that the person who answered right has to ask the next question. If that person doesn't do it right away, it's open for someone else. The only thing that can damage the coherence of a quiz is people asking questions before the older ones have been answered.

Actually, it was "Fool of a Tuk", I believe. I'm not 100% sure how Tuk was written in english.

Well, I think I'm better answering these questions than asking them :/

'Took' is correct in English, as Pippin Took, is his name.

The answer is 'The army of the Dead' though I give the answer grudgingly, as in the book it is not the dead, but Aragorn and the Grey company (consisting of good men from the South) who save Minas Tirith.

The dead consist of murderers, traitors and other foul people, who in the second age swore an oath of allegiance to Isildur. Isildur called upon them but they fled into the mountains, so Isildur placed a royal curse on them, forcing them to live forever (but not in a nice way). Only Isildur's heir (Aragorn, in this case) is able to break such a curse and allow the dead to... well, die really. After having served him in THE BAY OF BALFALAS and not at Pellenor Fields.
