It's nice to know somebody somewhere keeps a tank in good condition. All the pics of Aberdeen I've seen show the tanks in serious need of a paint job.

Yes, they just stand there rusting. It's quite a way to go, for a tank, but then they could be in beautiful state if they were painted regularly. It's a pity. Most of the tanks that are preserved don't get as many paint jobs as they should though. You can see the rust coming through even in museums.

And yes, those without respect definitely need a lesson about WW2. Preferrably in the line of fire, with nothing but a bayonet in their hands and tanks coming at them.

I have seen the tank you are talking about several times, and it is in pretty good shape, but that was a long time ago.

Too bad, because they have practically every ww2 tank you can imagine over there. I wonder: do they have modern tanks as well or is it just a ww2 semitary?

I have a military museum about 1/2 an hour from me with a couple old tanks. They're in pretty good condition overall. The museum is really good for it's size; it has a stuart light tank inside, a german 88, an older artillery piece and tractor, an older tank from b/w the wars, and lots of good stuff. The staff keeps the stuff in good condition.

The VFW post in my town has a M60 their working on.

The USS Alabama Battleship Park in Mobile has some AFVs. I know they have a M48, Iraqi T55, personnel carriers, and a Sherman in renovation. May have others now.

They also have the USS Alabama (WW2 battleship), USS Drum (WW2 submarine), SR71, F4D Phantom, B52, P51, F4U Corsair (Korean War), F105, and some artillery.

An impressive collection, especially for what is essentially a naval park.

It started as a naval park but over the years it has become a veterans park. I haven't been there in a while, I'll have to go ant take some pictures some time.

Just remebered this, speaking of cameras, I found that the Military Vehicle Colletors had there convention in Mobile last month. It was awsome! I was driving along and seen what was going on. Naturally, I didn't have my camera in the truck.

They had lots of jeeps, a few half tracks, several duece and a halfs, a M5 Stuart, and a UH1 Huey helicopter.

Driving past a National Gurad post somewhere in New Jersey I noticed it had an M60 and an M113 outside.
Sadly we were late, so could not stop for a photo...
