I hope I haven't upset anyone here with my ponderings over this, was never my intention if that is the case. If I did unintentionally upset anyone, I apologise.

Besides, this is not about any of us really. Here's one of the poor girls mothers speaking to the crowds gathered in Manchester Manchester attack: Mother's emotional appeal at vigil - BBC News

And another video, this one from Sky to help remember those lost Daughters, wives, friends - victims of the Manchester attack

As far as the leaks go, apart from the sharing of intelligence, the leaks were very upsetting for the families involved. Families that were still clinging on to hope. I guess when the press released the photos of the crime scene, some of these families were still waiting on DNA confirmation or waiting outside while their loved ones were/are receiving surgery.

Hopefully the leaks issue can be put behind us and the intelligence community can move forward to ensure full cooperation at a time like this. It makes you wonder how many people could have gone into hiding when the bombers name was prematurely released.

Humanity has still shone through like the homeless guys who helped the victims, the people who offered their homes to anybody in need, the taxi drivers that ferried people about free of charge and the countless numbers of emergency staff that rallied when the city needed it.

Five adults and five children are still fighting for their lives tonight.

O.M.A. said " I give you credit for not backing off your original Nazis-are-the-TRUE-cause-of-Jihad premise."

I said" It was the Nazi's that made Jihad popular."

You said you quoted me correctly. Very different in meaning. But, whatever.........

As to the past leaks, I was referring to any leaks PRIOR to thedonald taking office. I just don't think that leaks under past administrations were as weak and meaningless as leaking the victims names or pics of bomb fragments. Who would gain with that info?

And please, no one needs to be afraid of hurting my feelings. I don't usually care about what the people I meet with face to face think of my opinions let alone cyber aliases.

That wooshing noise you heard was the real point of British indignation passing far over your head...The releasing of the suicide bomber's name while the British knew who he was, but had not yet released his name. Thus, giving any of his associates/accomplices advance warning that the British were on to them, allowing them a chance to flee or otherwise go to ground before the British services could round them up.

Typical case of American "journalists" acting without thinking of the consequences of their actions.

But not any more accurate. Jihad is a fundamental part of Islam and an obligation of all devout Moslems. Now exactly what that "Jihad" encompasses can very considerably. In any case it was popular in Islam from the very formation of that religion. From there the rather mild extrapolation is IMO forgivable.

That incidentally was why the Obama administration didn't want to refer to the terrorist as Jihadi's. That is a term of praise in Islam, they like being called that and it gives them stature when their opponents refer to them as such.

Usually when someone quotes someone they don't add their own bias. Whatever. If the day wasn't so beautiful I'd try to retrace my research steps to find the historical analysis that spoke of the Nazi influence in promoting a militant version of jihad. But no one here is interested in WWII so why bother. Anyway, No one believes anything today except what they want to believe. This period in our history gives me insight into how the average German came to accept hitler.. 10 years of anti-government and anti American values propaganda started by Allis has done it's work. Are you kidding? Not only is it the usual practice but some recommend rewording comments as a way of clarifying what was said.
That's really weak. If you looked at some of the other threads in the more on topic forums you would find that many of the posters in this thread are quite interested and quite knowledgeable about WWII. Sounds to me like you are just making excuses.
Projecting your own issue on the rest of us? Again it wouldn't take too deep of examination of various threads on this board to prove you wrong there.
Perhaps you could share that "insight", I certainly don't see it.

Seems that the terrorist (along with his father) were part of a rebel group fighting Momar Qaddafi financed and supported by GB?

Anyone have any more info on this?

@lwd. Help me get this. I'm trying to understand this place that seems quite political.

I said: Usually when someone quotes someone they don't add their own bias.

    lwd said: Are you kidding?

I would requote your words as I read it. :"Are you a LUNITIC?"

I could be all wrong but that's what I'm getting here.

I offer some knowledge gained in my research that is pertinent to the thread and rather than do a little Googling to look into my claim and show some evidence that there was no Nazi-Muslim-jihad connection it's easier just to attack the source as not valid. I could be wrong or half wrong and that would be ok. I am looking at this horrible incident and trying to understand the enemy and it's methods so the dead did not die in vein.

Anyway, is there a thread here where people share the stories of the commandos who fought in WWII? My father told my brother and I a lot of stories that I've spent the last few years validating. I would like to share his stories and to hear the tales of others who fought in front of the front. Like the story he told of the summer of 45. The Norwegian lass, the sailing vacation and the bag of gold teeth.......... :)

If that's what you really want, you can ask whatever you like from me via conversations. Because I don't believe it's easy find an Ex-Muslim who knows Arabic, has read most of Islamic books by its different branches, discussed topics with them for hundreds of hours, is a relative of a famous high-ranking clergy (now deceased)...

I always try to hide my past to avoid prejudice, and because of my Eastern European looks (I have Eastern European ancestors) no one suspects.

I have tried to tell facts here, but it looks like many believe I'm another conspiracy theorist with strong/false opinions.

Sometimes far too easy to over think these things. Does not matter to which faith\organisation a terrorist sets themselves out to represent they are just cold blooded murders and need to be treated as such so do not treat them as anything more..

Where they are identified and known to be a threat they need removing from society, lets cut out this cancer swiftly where we at least know it exists. No not need to sit and watch it grow, it will not change, it will kill us.

I guess I was to swing it if under threat and they didn't have a gun of course.

Heard through the news that the bomb factory (presumed to be a house) has been found during investigations. Been quite a few arrests made here in the UK.

Ever since a group of thugs that has admitted to not believing in The Constitution took over our Government I've been obsessed with politics. You right about that.

I have it on good authority that the owner of the site is sick to death of political threads and their associated conspiracy theories on his WW2 website. I wouldn't get too comfortable talking politics here.

Thanks. The very first page I found here had talk about the goodness of crushing another persons balls and torturing their families. It struck me as odd talk for a WWII history forum.

I know for fact that sometimes there is a tiny piece of truth in conspiracy theories My dad entered Buchenwald on Liberation +3 as a member of 474th medical unit and as he is first language was Polish he was able to act a translator for the inmates. Some theorists believe that the pictures of bodies were posed and use that reach a conclusion that the Holocaust was not true. The truth is that bodies were scattered all over the place Buchenwald was liberated and every hour after liberation about 10 more would die. So the inmates and liberators tidied the place up. War photographer Margaret Bourke-White took her pictures. And the story of the "posed pictures" was born.
