I am building a G33/40 by starting with an action and barrel that is 98% condition. The original stock is in very good condition but should I refinish the wood and reblue the metal?
The barrel bands were purchased seperately and I have'nt got a rear sight yet. Would it be more valuable as is or restored? The parts finish will not match if left unrestored.

Are you rebuilding it to sell, shoot, or reenact with? If you want to resell it I would find someone that sells to collectors and ask them what sells best. For anything else I would restore the wood finish and re-blue the metal. This will help it last longer and look better. You can probably find the recipe for the blue and stain for the original. GL.

It really is the choice between your desires for the weapon itself. As mentioned by "tikilal". What task are you working toward? Sales? Use/fuctionality? Or simply restoration for your own collection? Each has it's own level of precision.
