Just to show you what I can get in 2010 after a day hunt at four different flea markets in central France with a small budget and a patient wife. -a French Medic Kepi -a German 1944 dated Feldflasche (red model) -a British green enamel bottle -a French kaki bottle -3 French medals and a medic insignia -a French M-16 Adrien helmet with blue original paint still on it. I did not take pictures of the post WWII items I also found.
If I think about I'll take a picture or two of a market for you tomorrow, in the menatime here is a pic or two fro mthe internet so you have an idea of all the junk I have to sort out before I find something .
Sheesh, at least you have things like that happening there all the time. Here? HAH. Great hauls though ;=))
I'm about to leave Carl, Mrs Skipper is already in the car, new bargains ahead, I hope. I will keep you informed .
Hi, that is a good haul for one day, especially if priced right. There is very little on the fleamarkets in the Dam, though the main one is on six days a week. I saw a relic mp40 at one in the hague the other week, though at 550 euros I thought it was too much money. Jerry
hi skipper, looking forward to what you have picked ;-00 I think you should do a cable Tv show much like one here thats called; American Pickers-you would do a great job of being the shows star ;-))
I still think poor Mrs. Skip and son are getting pushed out of the house with all this militaria that he is picking up a dirt-bag cheap prices. if only we had a fair like shown down here in southern Orygun...........nah it would never happen it would be boycotted once anything in the open is declared military, only the gun shows are attended and even now sparingly
In fact I'm pushed out not them , I am allowed one single room for my collection and the rest has to be boxed , but that's ok with me otherwise I'd invade the whole house. In two days I'll be on the hunt again. My buddy came home with a KM cap in perfect condition , I still can't believe it, perfectly original without a doubt!
That looks like on heavy duty meat grinder in that last photo. Looks about 3 times the size of the one my mom had when I was a kid.
please keep a sharp eye out then for me, we can talk later of course............on the financial aspect
ok put me on as # 2 , blue peaked not white covered please .......... and you never know Skip you have found some remarkable items in the past
Yes, remember my Me-109 tail wheels for instance. I also forgot to mention a cigarete card picture book called Deutchsland erwarht.
Now I'm even more sorry that we didn't get much time to look for items on the tour and that when we were in Amsterdam our only shopping day was the one when the flea market was not on, and most shops were closed because it was a holiday (May 13/2010) not listed in our books!! I think my husband did some separate research and figured out our schedule accordingly! Good items Skipper, and I'm glad you share photos. I get to know what the real items look like in colour, vs photos from the war years that are usually black and white.
