Can anyone decipher this record for me?

    SPIKER Robert Claude 035972 B-WVa lOOct 21A-WVaSSC
Grad USA C&GS Coll 57 Armor Sch O AdvCrse 53 ABWVa
42 SM Univ of Chicago 48 21t Inf Res 16 May 42 to Lt Col ^
    10 June 59 RA lit Inf 16 July 46 D/R 10 Oct 45 to Maj 9 May 1956
    PL 6908

I am researching the military career of this officer and these abbreviations appear regularly. I know he was an infantry officer in WW2 and was in the University of West Virginia although I am not sure whether he graduated in 1942. He was in the 1941 and 1942 yearbooks. I assume 21t is 2Lt, and Iit is 1Lt.

Does his army number indicate graduation from ROTC?

    regards

    Keith

I can decipher that he was born on 10 Oct 1921, in West Virginia.

    Sorry I can't do more.
