Least is easy, Covenanter, Sentinel, Ram etc. never saw combat so had exactly 0 kills . Highest number is harder, in absolute numbers assuming the proportion of tank losses due to tank vs tank combat is constant, as the Soviets lost nearly the whole 20.000 strong 1941 tank inventory the Pz III that was the German's main tank at the time is a better candidate than the T-34, there are not enough German tanks for the T-34 to match that number. If your'e looking for kill/loss ratios the figures are hotly debated but a good candidate may be the much maligned Ferdinand/Elephant, even if you credit a small percentage of the huge claims attributed to it as true there were only 90 of the things which makes for a pretty impressive kill ratio considering a few probably survived to fight in the final Berlin battles.
Most "destructive" tank is sort of a misleading title. The overall amount of kills a tank has is going to depend on more than how destructive the gun is or how thick the armor. Unfortunatly I also fear this question may never be adequately answered because of too many conflicting sources and lack of proper documentation of every single tank kill
In terms of the tank that caused the MOST DEATH, I'd have to go with the T-34 or one of the mainstay German tanks like the Mk. IV.
It could just as easily be the Sherman simply because there were so many of them, and there were loads of them on the Eastern front too.
The Sherman was a workhorse tank, but the kill/death ratio for Shermans really wasn't great; they were effective against some medium tanks and infantry, however, so I can see your point.
For most I'd guess the T-34 or the Sherman. There were a few more T-34s and it was in service longer so it probably gets the nod. The Sherman was in some used as indirect artillery later in the war in the West and probably in the pacific which might be enough to give it the nod. What are the qualifiers? For instance the IS-3 and the Crusader didn't see much if any action and the Pershing saw very little, the Maus even less. The Soviets also had a lot of different kinds of tanks many obsolete when the war began. Some of them may be in the running.
Oh ya about the post! lol As far as kill ratio's I know the Elephant has already been mentioned I think it was 10 tank kills for every loss or something like that on average... But doesn't the King Tiger out perform those ratios? I don't know the average number of kills racked up per Tiger II during the war but I know that the last two King Tigers in Berlin took out 100+ tanks between the two of them. But I guess that could just be a special circumstance.
My humble opinion would have to be...Most kills: yes, indeed the T-34, as it was in service from 1940 to 1945 and most German deaths occured on the Ostfront, the most common Soviet tank was the T-34, thereby this tank would probably have the deadliest record. Least kills? Well obviously, any tank that never saw any combat would have zero kills. However, for those that did see combat, the least amount of kills would perhaps go to the T15/T16 Marmon-Herrington, also known as the CTLS. It was used in the retaking of the Aleutian Islands that had been invaded by the Japanese, therefore seeing "combat". However, I do not believe that they accumulated any kills.
