I am surprised, I'd have thought Angelina Jolie would have been there, what about Brad Pitt?

I'd be inclined to say people like Simon Cowel and Sharon Osbourne, as they sap away the cultural life-blood of our country.

Who was it defined a celebrity as someone who is 'well known for being well known?'

    Agree
Please add Adam Sandler, Tori Spelling and anyone who has "Ice" or "Dog" (no matter how you spell it) in their name.
(Too many in the media, in politics, on reality tv to name)(if they're not paying us to be there ... they're over-paid)

Wages annually for members of Congress (the do nothing one)

Actually triple that with allotments & perks

    Senator/Representative ... $ 169,300 (435 of em)
    Minority/Majority Leaders ... $ 188,100
    Speaker of the House ... $ 217,400

two years ago the wages were
    162,200
    183,500
212,100 respectively ... did you get a raise like that ?

By law, they can only do it every two years, but they usually do.

    A. I don't have that option, I just try to keep from going broke paying for their raises.

What can you say Kai, power is with the people. Stop seeing there films but as we few know that is a fat chance. I forget the last time I went to see a movie as round here my total cost was about £13 for a all round trip. And that must have been four or five years ago, I dread the cost now of seeing a film but I must admit I am eyeing up three films for later this year or early next year.

As far as I am concerned, they all are overpaid. Getting paid that kind of money to pretend to be someone else. Jeez Louise.

I agree with Kai's, Skippers and Stefans lists. I'd have to add a few like:

    John (Revolta) Travolta
    gEoRgE :panic: cLOONEY.
    Robert Redford.
    Sean Penn-head.
    TiM rObBiNs.

    Just to name a few.

Absolutely love ole black & white films. Some of my favorites include:

Dunkirk. OK, not so old but still a great movie ;-))
    The Colditz Story.
    Sink the Bismarck.
    Pursuit of the Graff Spee.
    The Password Is Courage.
A Night To Remember. Im a Titanicoholic. Hey, I think I might have just coined a new Engl... eh hem AMERICAN language word. :-D
The Canterville Ghost. Ok, im not sure it's a Brit film but-it has Charles Laughton in it! and he's absolutely hilarious as the cowardly Canterville Ghost. ;-))
Ice Cold In Alex. Sir John Mills sure got around a lot didn't he? ;-))

There are bunches more I like that is classic British Cinema, but don't have time to list them.

I agree with Jeff here, we pay the people who protect us less than we pay these idiots! Don't get me wrong I love watching movies and such, but 20 mill for one pic!! That's crazy!!
    OK, I'm done now.
