We have all seen the famous German motorcycles with the side wagon in almost all War movies.

I was wondering are these BMWs? or are they a different make?

Yes, the Waffen SS also had their Kradshütze or Kräders - and besides BMW´s and Zündapps they also used DKW´s, NSU´s and other brands on a smaller basis.
The mortality rate of the men in these motorcycle batallions was high, however, as they practically had no protection from enemy fire.
