.that was a quip......I was really thinking of the NAfrican Campaign, where there is a ton of them
    ...but, there's Von Ryan's Express---it's decent
---Hornet's Nest with Rock Hudson--not good at all
    ---Devil's Brigade = horrible !!!!!
---To Hell and Back = ok, but not good
--Anzio = horrible --starting with the intro theme song
    etc

I think there is a North African campaign movie revolving around Rommel and Tobruk. I think I watched it and it wasn't half bad.

...Tobruk with Rock Hudson....Raid on Rommel with Richard Burton is not only idiotic, but they use a lot of exact same scenes from Tobruk!!

I liked Where Eagles Dare with Clint Eastwood and Richard Burton.

There was this movie about Africa the italians are surrounded and all looks bleak they fight bravely but they have no chance so this guy who has been holding the men together leads a last despairate attack that you figure their all killed a spaghetti film I'm sure. I read most italian units gave up readily as they had run low or out of rations and ammo. Funny they have a film about Italian pows sent to California working on farms as harvesters, one guy sneaks off at night for weeks and goes to the town falls for a girl they date and gets caught the war has just ended and so their going to repatriate him but he doesn't want to go so the girl marries him so he can stay too funny it was a comedy.

LoL lots of studios we're always looking for ways to cut costs. The four feathers was done like seven times but actually only filmed six. The studio did another adaption but changed the name and used all the same footage from the movie three years earlier. Talk about cheap.

I'll see your battle for San Pietro and raise you an Op Diadem.

San Pietro was at the end of 1943 as the allies ground towards the Winter line.

Days of Glory is the movie about the men who broke the Gustav Line

The main actors are prominent French north African actors.

Still haven't found that Italian war movie. I'm sure it was a spaghetti film because some of the actors were in those Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns. I'm sure I'll find it one day.

LoL that movie was hilarious and that guy raiding everything he could. And that one guy everytime he had to bail out over the Mediterranean they'd find him paddling in the opposite direction

It's been a loooong time since I saw Catch-22. As I recall, it was set in WW2 Italy, but was not really about the Italian Campaign. I'm sure if my memory is faulty in that regard, someone will correct me.
