You are soooooo right! I just caught 30 secs of it as I channel surfed to find something to watch while I ran on the treadmill last night...that stinking movie made me want to turn off the TV and go to bed dry heaving along the way!

Instead I watched Michael Douglas and his lovely wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, in some drug- traffic movie shoot-em all movie..."Traffic"? Watching her was compensation enough for Rocky & Bullwinkle and a jerky plot line in Traffic.

Why do I hate it? Let me count the adjectives; treacly, cloying, saccharine sweet, bilge-inducing... Get the picture? I don't even care if the story is accurate or not. Just the opening notes of "My Favorite Things" is enough to send me retching to the bowl.

Great choices! I hated both of those movies too--especially snakes on a plane. It sealed my hatred for it when I saw that bathroom sex scene in which the pretty blonde female was bitten on her well--;-)

PS, I've also hated everything I ever saw jane "Hanoi jane" fonda in--though she was sexy as heck in Barbarella, but I saw her Canine side in the very boring klute. THE ONLY reason I watched Old Gringo-was because of Gregory Peck being in it, also THE ONLY reason why I watched On Golden Pond-was because Henry Fonda was in it.

I agree. Australia was a flop and boring.

There is a movie which i can't remember the name of it with Leo Dicaprio. He is an agent in a thrid world country.
It was boring and too long.

What a insult to Isaac Asimov's book.

Yes Nav, your list of turkeys would make mine as well except for one. "Mars Attacks" is best viewed when consuming adult beverages....

Isn't everything best viewed when the consumption of alcohol is on board?? Mars Attacks or not, I can contest to seeing life in a whole new beautiful perspective... until you have to pay a visit to the porcelin palace:eek:

"Mars Attacks" is just plain funny-stupid. It's a goofy take off on the old 1950s Martian invasion SciFi moves. It helps if you're familiar with genre. And it was done by that guy, Tim Burton (enough said!)

"Don't run away!! We are your friends!Ack! Ack!"

And, yes, adult beverages do help you in the "suspension of disbelief"!

I like the part when the boy and his grandma was driving around playing the Slim Whitman music, causing the Martian's heads to pop! That was great!

"The Big Red One", I expected a WW2 classic but it turned out to be slapstick in spite of Lee Marvin and Mark Hamill, my childhood hero.

I agree with you about "The Big Red 1." It was sort of a let down. I guess that I expected too much from it too. It could have and should have been better.

You can never be too careful these days....I hear that that sort of music will keep the rappers, the hippity hoppers and gangbangers away too!
