    Near the chateau at Lion-sur-mer which can be seen in the background, a demonstration of special weapons took place in front of FM Rommel on 11 May 1944. Seen here is one of the two models of French Somua tank adapted to mount a multi-barrel rocket launcher, which was issued to the 10th Battery of the 105th Regiment.

    Detail of that device showing the French Somua chassis. The launcher consisted of sixteen barrels aligned in two racks of eight.

    I have never heard of these, and like Dave said, excellent photos.

    Where these used in the defense by the Germans? And how many of these were created?
