    Hi all

First real post from a newbie.

These are pics of the two German daggers I have, the larger one is in great condition, and has an inscription on it. I did get them identified a couple of years ago, but seem to remember that the larger one is Naval.

    Hope you like them

    Neal

    Hi,

The one on the left is for the SA -it read should read 'alles fur deutchland/all for Germany- and the one on the right, I think is not navy, but I cant remember what it is for. I'll try and find out and post the answer if I have any luck.

The second one is definitely a DLV (Deutscher Luftsport Verband) dagger, probably late War.

Agree, for the DLV, I just found it.

Nice to meet you Neal. Nice pieces you have there. I don't think I have ever seen an S.A. dagger before. I bet thats worth something.

    Welcome aboard!

The DLV is missing it's leather scabbard wrap. Thomas Wittman has a service that can re-wrap these with period leather...if that is your sort of thing.

The NSKK looks to have nickel fittings...that always makes it a bit more desirable.

These are both good daggers for a beginner...near relic condition as daggers go....

Nice looking daggers! About your SA one - the scabbard doesn't look like its the original one. It appears to be a SS one to me (SA had brown scabbards, SS had black as far as I know).

I have a SA Dagger (with the hanger), as well as a 2nd model Luftwaffe dagger with the white grip (apparently done to mimic the ivory grips of those held by flag officers). I'll post a shot of both if I have a change. Both are veteran bring-backs, and have been in my family for some time.

It's an NSKK dagger....black scabbard with an SA dagger.

Yes, NSKK if the scabbard is black, my mistake.

    Hi guys

Thanks for all the informative replies, I will do some research, now I know the types. Will post a pic of my Spike Bayonet if anyone would like to see it? I have a gas mask and a peice of a Messerschmitt, according to family legend! But will put them on the correct forum.

I also have some paper work, like a 1944 map, and a doc signed by Monty:)

I can see I am going to be spending a lot of time on this forum!

    Cheers

    Neal
