    Yeah it probably only cost the US Taxpayer about 5 million dollars to schlep him and Pence down there twice for a photo op during a pandemic, economic depression and a nationwide unrest, but as long as it was 'balanced out'.

    Please...I was replying to a previous poster who contended his presence was the only redeeming element to the launch. With all the issues I noted and you did not dispute facing this country right now we need POTUS & VPOTUS in Washington working, not in Florida preening.

    If you are poor and a failure you are weird, if you are rich and successful you are eccentric. I suspect his black clad ground crew are a aesthetic choice to have them contrast against a bone white capsule and astronaut's. This is as much a commercial enterprise as anything and 'branding' is important if the hope to be chosen over the Boeing rocket.

    US was paying Russia $50 million a pop to get into space..so if Musk can reduce that in half..I'd say it's worthwhile...China, India and others are already planning unmanned probes to Mars..seems to be the latest thing..but once Starbucks sets up a franchise there..then I know it's been colonized.

    I once proposed that St. Louis require all Starbucks and Walgreens pharmacies to be housed on QuikTrip gas station properties only. This would save several thousand acres of land in the County.

    We could use that land to grow pot.

    Mugging for photo ops is not what I would call working. He is working for his reelection campaign, and that is about it. If he wanted to do a honest days work, he would travel to the cities and speak to the protesters.

    As to FDR vs. Trump, FDR got things accomplished, whereas Trump has accomplished very little.
