Regardless of ambient temperature or weather conditions never forget to pack heat and wear your rubbers

"Hope you have a great trip, bro...but I gotta say I got a good chuckle out of your "wanna-be" comment...coming from a guy renting a Harley to ride to Sturgis...I have a lot of real biker buddies (I'm NOT one of them...me plus motorcycle would equal death) and that made me laugh out loud a little bit".

Yeah yeah yeah laugh it up Mr. Funnyman....Wannabes are those guys who buy and wear at the same time every Harley logo accessory known to man. For them, dressing up to ride is just as important as the ride. They dress up and cruise to malt shops and burger joints and hang around pretending to be something they're not. They only ride during perfect weather dressed in full Harley logo regalia. Kind of like the guys on that Wild Hog movie. I'm just going along on the trip because I was invited, and it sounds like fun. I've never considered going there before. A buddy of mine bought a bike about 4 years ago, and I doubt he has a 1000 miles on it yet. He's going with a group who are trailering their bikes up there. He-men every one. They will probably put their jackets up where bugs can get stuck on them for the illusionary effect. From what I've learned, the vast majority of people who go to these big motorcycle rallys trailer their bikes up, then unload and ride the last few miles into town. Oh yeah, real bikers them. No, I really don't want to be like them at all. If I still like riding after I get home, I might buy one. The sales manager from the Harley shop is going along with us, so who knows!

"Regardless of ambient temperature or weather conditions never forget to pack heat and wear your rubbers".

Oh yes, better have them and not need them than to need them and not have them.

When a little kid get's their first bicycle, the parents fit extra little wheels, 'Stabilisers' to the back wheel to stop the new little rider falling off.............. :p

I guess you colonial types call them something else................?

You do not want to be John Travolta....Wasn't the Hell's Angel's started by ex US soldiers/airmen? And wasn't the whole Sturgis thingy started by the H.A.?

Well while it is true that some the original Angel's were formed by some ex-servicemen post WW2, the Sturgis rally/ride was started long before then as a combination race event and a hill climb by a local Indian dealership. I think his club were the "Gypsies" or something, and that was about 70 years ago, so it was pre-WW2.

What happens in Sturgis , stays in Sturgis....Unless someone took pictures...Don't forget to wear pants under your chaps'. I think you could get a ticket if you don't ...Hopefully you don't run into any of the guys you busted back in the day. You might need a glasses/ fake nose/ mustache kit.

    NO SINGING....EVER....

I forgot about this thread. Did you get your rental reservation yet? I have a site saved that gives free leather rental along with airfare to Bismark....
