I know this is a long shot but does anyone know where the 5th Army Corp. Of engineers were and if they had any significant battles? I ask because I inherited my grandfathers service report, explaining why he receivedthe bronze star but the actual location had been blacked out. Any further information would be a great help! Also I can attach a picture of the record but later today if anyone is willing to help.

If you are talking about Engineers attached to the US 5th Army Corps then according to Wikipedia They (5th Corps) assaulted Omaha beach on June 6th, 1944. Then Liberated Paris, Sedan, Ardennes and after the Bulge liberated Leipzig and then Pilsen, Czechoslovakia.

The US 5th Engineer Special Brigade (37th, 336th, 348th Engineer Combat Battalion's) assaulted Omaha beach and operated there until November 1944, then in the Paris area until the end of the war.

Post a picture of the report. I think it will be helpful. Maybe we can be more helpful if we can see if.
