Hello all, My name is Tim. I am from Wisconsin (originally the Green Bay area, now living outside of Milwaukee). My grandfather on my dad's side served in WWII as a PFC in the 83rd Infantry Division, 329th Infantry Regiment, 2nd battalion, G Company. Unfortunately, my grandfather passed away in 1993 shortly before my 7th birthday, so I have very few memories of him. My dad has always told me grandpa was not very fond of talking about the war, so we know very little about his time in the service. Last year I had the privilege and honor of escorting a WWII veteran on the Honor Flight (if you are unfamiliar with this program, please do yourself a favor and look into it). This rekindled my interest in my grandfather's history, and since Oct 2017, my dad and I have feverishly been researching everything possible about the 83rd, 329th, and anything doing with my grandpa. Although I've already found so much (including a picture of him with men in his platoon while overseas that no one in my whole family, even grandma, has ever seen) I know there's still more out there. Also, will researching, we've come across many new questions. You will see me all over the forum asking on everything from the military coding of soldiers, to troop movements, to medals/awards. I look forward to talking with many of you. Thank you for being here. Perhaps one day, I may be able to help a new member as much as I am looking forward to being helped. Tim aka Timmey
