hi everybody, say that i come from nowhere, but i definitely like reading everything about WW2 and history in general. WW2 was the climax of the 20th century. There are many subjects i'd like to talk about and it looks like this is the right place. i just hope i'm good enough for you guys...
Hell Neon, if the Rogues here accept me, then you are certainly more than good enough to fit in. Just watch out for Slipdigit and Von Poop, I hear they don't shower.
not a particular topic, but i'll give you 3: - battle of britain: turning point in the west - blue operation '42: an impossible task that got so close to succed - von stauffenberg: never seen such an unlucky man! that guy deserved more..
One question more: What is your location? And adjust your Control Pannel -CP- means fill the correspondent case in your profile. Thanks.
Hey, Hey, Hey. Adam may pass on the daily application of soap and water but my butt gets cleaned every day, whether it needs it or not! And the insult of all insults, associating me with that...that...that Limey! Oh my stars! I'll help you concerning Peppy, Neon. He's anal retentive about avatars, correct quoting and using the site search feature before asking questions. See these links for proof. It will help to save you from the PanzerPenguin (and this link also). 1. Peppys' comments on using the Search feature. You'll get the idea about how to keep Peppy happy before asking a question. 2. Peppy's comments on how to use quote in a posting. See post # 44 of this thread. This pics are of the old site skin, but you can get an idea on how to quote others in a way to keep Peppy frpm grumbling. "Peppy >>> likes the format of a well formatted post" Some of these goof-balls here will TRY to tell you that I am a redneck. Nothing could be further from the truth. I am a full blooded South Alabama Good Ol' Boy. There is a big difference. Its like saying that a buzzard is an eagle, just because they both have feathers. (Uh, by the way, I'm the eagle in the preceeding analogy.) Anyway, have fun and stay away from Von Poop, he doesn't bathe regularly.
haha thanks for warning me.... anyway i prefer not to tell my location (btw many other don't), i simply don't want to be associated with any side. it's clear i'm not english mother language, but that's all i can say.
It's your choice, but there are no "sides" here. He have guys who disagree on somethings and then stand side by side on others. When we do disagree, most of the sane people end up agreeing to disagree and move on. Two others that Peppy neglected to tell you about are our resident Portagee, Za Rodinu and our very own Ruskie, Sloniskp. I promise, they don't bite (much) and if they do, you can get shots for whatever you catch from them. We have Finn (Kai) also, who is always good for some obscure fact no one has ever heard of. We have another Iberian, Jan7 (who is Spanish), a Turk (Karem), and some Frenchmen (Skipper, at least he lives there). We have way too many Limeys to mention and a Deutschlander or two lurking about and some Aussies who LOVE to be called "skippy". I think we have someone from Texas, but I'm not sure and the owner of the site isn't fully certain if he is a Canuck or an Uh-merican. Speaking of Uh-mericans, there are lot of us here. Just so long as you don't say that Roosevelt knew for a fact that Pearl Harbor was going to bombed on Dec 7 and deliberately let the fleet get caught there, you'll have no problems. So jump on out there, Neon, if you have a question, but you might try looking over old posts to see if the question has been asked before. It very likely stands a good chance of having been talked to death already. How long has it been up, Otto, since 1955? No one is going to give you problems about your English, if it is not correct. Heck, I'm from the Southern United States and we use words like y'all, fixin' to, and ain't.
never thought that!! FDR rules! btw, it's a pity your presidents have worsened so much since then... ops, i said it
Neon, don't infer my defense of FDR's actions leading up to Pearl Harbor as expressing support for his domestic policies, which were socialist. I am no socialist. For me, his reputation was saved by his leadership of the country after 1940, not before.
well... actually as far as i know, US in 1940 were certainly better off than in 1932. love it or not, the "new deal" seemed to work those years Anyway let's say that we agree that after 1940 FDR was the best for the office.
