Decent footage - really odd choice of music - much too heroic sounding for my view of the German role in WW2. :-?
the footage all looks pretty late 44 and 45 so I suppose it is designed to be rousing and patriotic without sounding too upbeat FNG
What German role? The Whermacht was just an army, following orders. Don't confuse it with the SS. As far as i'm concerned, the german soldier gets as much respect from me as i have for the allied soldier. Still, nice vids
Look for the movie "Schlacht in der Normandie" and listen to the movie. My first impression was, Normandy was just a big Eighties party
I'm a bit disappointed. We shouldn't avoid a good civil debate on what we find morally acceptable, should we? I for one am very interested to find out why Lone Wolf thinks the Wehrmacht cannot possibly be considered heroic in their efforts even if they were just drafted soldiers like the men in every other army.
I'm certainly not anti debate on this point but it is rather insulting when someone begins a discussion by saying that they don't want a discussion - why should I answer such an overture.
I think what Che means is that you two might never agree but that he's still interested in hearing your point of view. This is true for most debates in the end, I wouldn't let it stop me.
It´s better to use this thread to post other vids dealing with german armed forces during the war. I found another one with rather rare footage and considering the music it´s a special one for Lone Wolf http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0UO6CvyjqE Awesome footage Part one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZ9zXUZzVBc Part two http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDQmqujiVlQ Regards, Che.
i liked the vid and the music...its kinda sad when you consider , its late in the war and the young troops are attacking east towards the red army and of course ,their own demise...
Stirring music It is great music and was used in the movie "Last of the Mohicans" starring Daniel Day-Lewis.
why do people think that all German soldiers were Nazis? The regular German army was just doing as they were told. and most of the soldiers in the army didn't even wanna fight
