    I have learned something more....last to surrender on Peliliu did not happen until 1947....and Peliliu may have not been necessary but we lost over half of the soldiers that had to invade and conquer it. I find there is always something new for me to learn in the Pacific Theater. Heavy losses, hence the name, "The Forgotten Corner of Hell".     Amazing it took an Admiral to convince them , I love the then and nows too.
