Why anyone would think the US government can fix anything is beyond me. Here's an article by a Canadian who experienced a single payer system a'la Obamacare. (Plan: Do NOT get sick!)

True enough. Americans are so ingrained with 'it's all about me' attitude that any 'freebie' is what they will take. I also saw this in Britain when I was stationed there in the 80's.

I say fine for those who want the easy way out. I will pay for mine thank you very much but the government better not try to force me into the system. Again, another way for the government to make me pay for a service I will either not use or not be able to use because of waste.

It worked well on he Japanese and Germans methinks.

Trouble with these scaremongers in the article is the lack of objectivity.
We have "Socialist/Useless/communism" healthcare here in Norway, but that doesn't mean that there are no private clinics. I got my eyes fixed up in a hospital, my dad got his knee done in a private clinic. Both payed by the people (if you cannot stand typing/reading government) and both delivered without any undue delay.
