Hi there, I recently bought a small 21mm in diameter asiatic pin. The seller informed me that it was his fathers, who had fought in Burma and Malaysia. I was wondering if anyone would be able to give me any information about it. The background is dark green/black and in the fore ground is a silver wheel, valve or gear. Across the top of the wheel is writing which appears to be Japanese, whilst on the lower side of the wheel it says NESHU TEKKOGYO KUMIAI. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. Regards, Henry
Here's a link to what appears to be the described pin. I'll take stab at it, but will defer to anyone else who actually has some expertise in this area. Google Translate doesn't help much with the word "TEKKOGYO". However, from a regular Google search, it may to refer to "iron/steel industry". The last two Japanese characters appear to translate as "union" or "association". Maybe some type of manufacturing union pin?
