    Much secrecy still surrounds the activities of British Intelligence in the various locations used to interrogate high-ranking German prisoners during WWII.

    Many German memoirs refer to being taken to 'a big house North of London' - in fact, in addition to the (in)famous 'London Cage' in Kensington Palace Gardens, there was Trent Park in Cockfosters, Wilton Park near Rickmansworth and, not far away, Latimer House in Hertfordshire (Rudolf Hess is among those said to have been interrogated at the latter).

    While out on a country walk this afternoon, I noticed that we would pass by Latimer House so took the following photos with my little pocket camera. Today, the house is used for conferences and weddings (!) and obviously some work is being done on the chimneys.....
