Polish 1939 reenactors

Reconstructors of Polish Cavalry Squadron in Uniforms from 1939 on the way to the field of reconstruction the Bzura River Battle.
This is bigest such event in Poland organised every year in Brochów near Sochaczew with particaption of more than 250 reconstructors and thausands of spectators.

Wow, that's a great shot! Those guys really go all out with their gear! Nice!

 

Poor horses I hope they won't make it too realistic.. Quite impressive though and a great tribute for these cavalry brave men.

The winged Hussar is pretty cool, re-enacting Polish forces is getting bigger and bigger with some great repro kit and good groups out there.

I think it's worth it just for the Rogotowka hats, fantastic!

PALHA

 

1) Infantry with Browning "wz.30" HMG (7,92x57 mm polish license of M1919). I am that guy with binoculars.



2) One of this year's events. On first plan you can see the Browning "wz.30" HMG, on the second plan there is a small BAR1918 squad. Poland have its license and manufactured it as "rkm wz.28 Browning" - it also had 7,92x57 Mauser ammo.



3) Another shot of guys with Browning "wz.30" and "rkm wz.28 Browning". Also you can notice a typical silhuette of infantry soldier (only backpacks are missing).



Ready for anything


Typical infantry silhuettes from late 30's. They are wearing light summer uniforms, M31 combat helmets. They also wears M33 backpacks with canteens and blankets attached. On their left side there is a M33 breadbag, on the right: M32 gasmask bag. As an ammopouches Polish Army used then identical pouches like WW1 german for Mauser Rifle. Typical infantry weapon was "wz.29" short mauser rifle (manufactured in FB RADOM). On the first picutre there is also "Browning wz.28" light machine gun.



Below: silhuette of infantry officer in rank of lieutnant (in full field/combat gear). He is armed with 9mm Radom VIS wz.1935 Pistol.

Shame, the pics are fantastic. I've got a mate who is very into his Polski re-enacting, has loads of fantastic kit of which I am very jealous.

 

Yeah. I woulkd love to get into the Polish reeacting just for my ancestry

 

Couple of guys on there are using 'relic' rifles, probably dug up on the original battlefields (if they are anything like the Russians), interesting stuff.
