Yes I am sure I read that in a earlier post on this thread, just was wondering if that was the only one were the "previous" owners markings were still visible and if they actually took this particular Panzer back to storage?
Great thread BTW, this an the accompaning Allied one would be great as stickies!

The odds are that they did as the Israelis were quite adept at recovering vehicles. As to the markings? I havent seen anying else other then the one on this particular tanks.

Perhaps because this one along with a few others that were captured dug in on the Golan Heights where the Syrian forces were and also because the Syrians were the ones known to have had purchased them?

Wrong thread ;) LOL. The IS-3 was a Soviet tank not an Axis one.

The Opel Blitz remained a major type for many years. The 3-ton Opel-Blitz continued in production well past the end of the war and in its S-Type form became the mainstay of post-war German commercial transport.

    Italian CV33 and CV35
About 40 units were captured from the invading Italians and turned against them. These tankettes were all destroyed during the German invasion of Greece. Others were obtained in 1945 and used during the Greek civil war.
