It's russian. You don't know AZBUKA ? OK I explain it = Tvoj Syn Na Fronte Betsja, Kak Geroj in russian and in english = Your son in front fighting like Hero. A Mimochodom z akého si mesta.
See the lower right corner, where it reads "leest Storm-SS"; this is an encouragement to read the SS magazine.
Nice ones trackpin! The last one is Dutch, again. It reads "Dutchmen! For your honour, and your conscience, on against Bolshevism! The Waffen-SS calls for you!"
I meant that Japanese poster few posts above. Don't worry, I understand Russian well. 8) Pracujem v Nitre.
ooooooooooooooh, Trackpin, where did you get that first one? It's Slovak war-time poster and the inscription means "The forest of the dead in Katyn".
post subject. Katyn? Katyn Wood, where the cream of the Polish Officer Corps were murdered by the Russians? I have been around a long time and can remember the cover up and the attempt to put the blame on the Germans, am just surprised that anyone knows about it, like alot of other war crimes it has been buried in time. This year I lost a good Polish friend, he delayed his Military service(as you could) pre war to finish his studies. Unfortunately he went to do them in late 1938, he left the army in 1946 in england!!Via Dunkirk with the Poles, joined the Airborne, injured his back at Ringwood, transfered to the RAF, trained as Navigator, did a few late raids over Germany, worked with me, died in 2004. Change of subject, one more poster for you.
post subject Hello Moonchild, you do surprise me by saying the "Katyn Wood" is wartime Russian.I would have thought that they would have kept quiet about the massacre, they did try to pin it on the Germans and it was quite a few years before the world knew of it. perhaps it was by anti-Stalin underground sources. Thanks for your compliments though. Have another poster!
Here's a few from Canada. I got them from Mutant Poodle with his kind permission to post them; thank you MP!
